State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak called for making the laptops of the ICT Division open to all at the Sheikh Russell Digital Computer Labs in the country. He said 168 Sheikh Russell Digital Computer Labs have already been set up in Jamalpur. At the same time, a survey has been conducted by the ICT department on the effectiveness of these labs. Addressing the teachers and officials present, Palak said, “Please, make the Sheikh Russell digital computer lab open for the use of students. Don't ruin these laptops by locking them in the dust.'


In his speech, the state minister remarked that as a result of various initiatives of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the ICT advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Digital Bangladesh, the youth are now able to stand on their own feet and easily become self-employed. He said, in Sheikh Hasina's digital Bangladesh, our youth do not need to have legs to stand on their own feet now. You have seen the proof of our Aklima in the first row. The Sheikh Hasina's government has created such opportunities in every district, upazila and union of Bangladesh. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak announced a pilot project to set up Sheikh Russell Computer Labs in primary schools in the near future.
The state minister for ICT said this while addressing the inaugural function of Jamalpur Hi-Tech Park on Saturday. Bangladesh Awami League Organizing Secretary and Member of Parliament Mirza Azam was the special guest at the function presided over by Md. Mozaffar Hossain, Member of Parliament for Jamalpur 5 constituency.
